PURPOSE:
The City of Greensboro is purchasing four (4) replacement 40 foot clean diesel buses from New Flyer, Inc. from the Piedmont Authority for Regional Transportation (PART) Bus Contract. A resolution is required to authorize this purchase.
BACKGROUND:
The Piedmont Authority for Regional Transportation (PART), in partnership with the Cities of Concord, Fayetteville, Greensboro, and High Point, Goldsboro/Wayne Transportation Authority, AppalCART, and Western Piedmont Regional Transportation Authority solicited bids for the purchase of heavy duty transit buses. This purchase is included in the FY20-21 Program of Projects approved by the Greensboro Urban Area MPO on June 24, 2020. A State Transportation Improvement Project (STIP) amendment approving this project was adopted by the North Carolina Board of Transportation on August 14, 2020.
BUDGET IMPACT:
Funding for the project is as follows:
$1,768,282 Federal
$ 312,050 Local
