City Council approval is requested for a Utility Reimbursement Agreement for R-4707 with the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) to support the preliminary engineering plan and construction of multiple size water and sewer line relocations and utility betterments to be installed with NCDOT Project R-4707. BACKGROUND:
The North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) prepared and adopted plans to make street and highway improvements under Project R-4707 in Guilford County. The project will include interchange improvements at US 29 and SR 4771 (Reedy Fork Parkway). City Council approval of a Utility Agreement is requested to support construction activities related to maintaining a reliable and consistent water service for our customers. NCDOT is responsible for the interchange improvements, bridge work and utility construction relocations located within existing permanent utility easements, while the City is responsible for the utility construction relocations and betterments of the water and sewer infrastructure located within the public right of way. The project includes the preliminary engineering plan and construction of sections of existing 8-inch, 12-inch, 20-inch and 30-inch water line and 8-inch, 36-inch sewer lines and utility betterments to be relocated.
