PURPOSE:
Stantec Consulting Services, Inc. is being requested to provide engineering services for the FEMA Hazard Mitigation Grant Support project. City Council approval of a contract in the amount of $164,500 is requested.

BACKGROUND:
The purpose of the FEMA Hazard Mitigation Grant Support project is to maximize federal partnerships and grant funding to mitigate flood risk within the City of Greensboro. Available FEMA grant funding may be able to remove properties defined as repetitive loss or severely repetitive loss structures. An additional priority includes assisting with the Flood Mitigation Grant Program's Advance Assistance grant application.

The Professional Services of Stantec, Water Resources floodplain management services on-call consultant, are being requested to perform the engineering services associated with the project. The scope of services includes FEMA flood mitigation assistance, grant program research and flood risk data collection, mitigation strategy finalization, and project grant application and implementation assistance. For this contract, the project team will consist of Stantec, JC Waller & Associates, P.C. and Taylor Engineering & Consulting, PLLC. JC Waller, a local MBE, will perform survey and their utilization is 9.12% of the contract amount. Taylor Engineering, a local WBE, will perform project grant application and implementation assistance and their utilization is 15.19% of the contract amount.
