PURPOSE:
The bids for Contract 2017-093 - Hilltop Road Lift Station Replacement, Force Main and Gravity Sewer Improvements have been received. In order for the work to proceed on this contract, City Council approval is requested for award of the contract to Jimmy R. Lynch & Sons, Inc. for $10,125,747.76.
BACKGROUND:
This work consists of installation of a new 2 million gallon per day (MGD) submersible, duplex, fixed speed sewer lift station with 250 kW backup diesel generator. The gravity line consists of approximately 4,000 linear feet of 10-inch and 16-inch sewer line and approximately 12,000 linear feet of 16-inch force main. The bids were opened on January 10, 2020 and the apparent lowest, responsible bidder is Jimmy R. Lynch & Sons, Inc. (Pilot Mountain, NC) with a bid of $10,125,747.76.
The M/WBE utilization goal was MBE 9% and WBE 13%.
The contractor met good faith and has a commitment of MBE 1.07% and WBE 6.93%.

Funds in the amount of $10,125,747.76 for this construction contract are budgeted in the Water Resources Revenue Bond Series 2018 account 516-7044-01.6019.
