PURPOSE:

City Council approval is requested for the sale of a Permanent Utility Easement (PUE) to North Carolina Department of Transportation for the Highway 29 and Reedy Fork Parkway Interchange Relocation Project.

BACKGROUND:

The subject property is located at 3803 Reedy Fork Parkway, parcel #0219252; portion of parcel for Fire Station #59. The sale was approved by the Fire Department.  The Permanent Utility Easement requested by NCDOT of 9,244.9 Sq. Ft. (.212 acres) will be used for the sole purpose of maintaining a utility easement due to the Highway 29 and Reedy Fork Parkway Interchange Relocation.  The tax value of $17,000 was used to determine the value of the easement. Since the easement is an encumbrance on City property, City Council approval is required.

BUDGET IMPACT:

Proceeds of $17,000 will be deposited into the Debt Service Fund - Sale of Real Estate:

Account #301-1001-01.8616.

RECOMMENDATION / ACTION REQUESTED:
