PURPOSE:
The bids for Contract 2010-130A - Stewart Mill Force Main & Rock Creek Force Main have been received. In order for the work to proceed on this contract, City Council approval is requested for award of the contract to D.H. Griffin Construction Company, LLC for $11,427,643.04.
BACKGROUND:
This work consists of installation of approximately 23,000 linear feet of 30-inch and 13,000 linear feet of 18-inch force mains. The bids were opened on October 5, 2017 and the apparent lowest, responsible bidder is D.H. Griffin Construction Company, LLC (Greensboro, NC) with a bid of $11,427,643.04.
The M/WBE utilization goal was MBE 3% and WBE 3%.
The contractor's commitment is MBE 3.4% and WBE 3.3%.
