PURPOSE:
The Parks and Recreation Department seeks to continue its partnership with The Salvation Army of Greensboro - Boys and Girls Clubs for the provision of youth programming at Caldcleugh Multicultural Arts Center. Through this contractual partnership as evidenced in Contract #2015-5206, the Boys and Girls Clubs provide comprehensive and enriching after school and summer day camp programs consistent with national best practices, offered at an extremely low price to users.

For the last two fiscal years, through the existing contractual arrangement the City has paid The Salvation Army of Greensboro - Boys and Girls Clubs $40,000 per year. The City's contribution represents approximately a third of the overall costs of the operation of the program, with the Boys and Girls Clubs covering the remaining costs. Because the $40,000 value of this addendum causes the total amount of the overall contract to exceed $100,000, City Council approval is required in order to continue with the third and final year of the agreement.
