PURPOSE:
City Council is requested to approve the following contract proposal from Golder Associates NC, Inc. to support Field Operations with water quality compliance monitoring, and address the ongoing corrective measures for the City's White Street Landfill. This contract may involve various activities to help the City operate and enhance its environmental management and monitoring of the White Street landfill. One routine service expected would be the semi-annual groundwater compliance monitoring and reporting required for the White Street landfill facility. Additional services may include storm water monitoring and troubleshooting, providing cost estimates for financial assurance and capital improvement planning, future corrective action design and implementation, and working with City staff to respond to requests by NCDEQ and EPA. Field Operations is requesting that City Council approve the proposal made by Golder Associates NC, Inc. in the amount of $195,000.00.

BACKGROUND:
On November 17, 2016, the Centralized Contracting Division issued the attached RFQ on behalf of the Field Operations Department from qualified and experienced firms for professional engineering services related to water quality monitoring and reporting for the City of Greensboro. The solicitation included minority and women business enterprises (M/WBE) outreach within the 10-county region.
