PURPOSE:
The Greensboro Police Department wishes to contract with the Kellin Foundation to support the Greensboro Child Response Initiative (CRI). The police department serves as the lead/fiscal agency for a Governor's Crime Commission (GCC) grant for the program. The grant continues through June 30, 2017 and this year's award is $125,000. Upon the exhaustion of the grant funds, the department wishes to provide gap funding to CRI until June 30, 2017. The City of Greensboro has authorized $150,000 as a contribution to a non-governmental agency for the CRI program. The funding has already been approved and is housed in budget account 101-95-1018. The contribution is the first funding the City has provided the Child Response Initiative Program as it has been and is currently grant funded. The contract is presented to Greensboro City Council in accordance with current city fiscal procedures.
