PURPOSE:
City Council is requested to approve and award the contract to S&S Building and Development, LLC for the office renovation of the District 3 Police Station of the City of Greensboro.

BACKGROUND:
As part of the Greensboro Police Department moving out of the 1st floor of the Kitchen building, staff previously located there will now be relocated to the D-3 Police Station. Affected units include the Police Neighborhood Resource Center (PNRC), School Resource Officers and the K9 unit. In order to accommodate the needs of staff, the vacant space, formally occupied by the Scene Shop, will be renovated into office space for use by the Police Department. The construction and the subsequent move of certain police department personnel to the District 3 Substation is the first step to complete expansion of the police headquarters. The project is an effort to provide better overall police service to all areas of the City and will not affect patrol resources in any police district.
