PURPOSE:
Water Resources is requesting a Contract Change Order to the Mitchell Water Treatment Plant Mechanical, Electrical and Structural Repairs Contract 2013-038 in order to continue to provide construction observations, construction administration, additional chemical feed system design improvements and Arc Flash analysis and labeling for the project. In order for the additional work to proceed, approval for a contract change order is requested.

BACKGROUND:
Contract 2013-038 was approved by the City Manager's Office on April 19, 2013 with ARCADIS G&M of North Carolina, in the amount of $69,000.00. The original contract called for Arcadis to provide bid documents, bid support services and very limited construction support services for the demolition and relocation of filter plant equipment and piping. Minimal inspection services were included to cover a three week observation window. Change Order #1 in the amount of $143,000 was approved on October 1, 2013 in order to authorize Arcadis to provide design services to upfit the interior of the filter plant (restrooms, chemical feed rooms, break room and lobby) and extend construction observation services to twelve weeks.
