PURPOSE:

Consider approving a resolution that will amend City Council resolution 120-06, which authorized the conveyance of four (4) lots in the Gorrell Sreet revitalization area to O.U. Chavis Contracting to correct the street address referenced in the original resolution.

BACKGROUND:

On June 20, 2006, the City Council of the City of Greensboro adopted a resolution authorizing the conveyance of the following properties to O.U. Chavis Contracting: 525 and 603 Martin Street, 504 Gorrell Street, and 608 Watson Street. However, the property referred to as 525 Martin Street, and reference by Plat, was actually 501 Gorrell Street. Subsequent agreements with O.U. Chavis reference 501 Gorrell Street.

O.U. Chavis Contracting subsequently constructed homes on 504 Gorrell Street and 603 Martin Street. At this point, they have asked to continue work and to build on the remaining two lots. Amending the original City Council resolution will allow the process to move forward per the original development agreement.
