PURPOSE:
Bids have been received for the Gorrell Street Water Tank Rehabilitation - Contract 2018-085. City Council approval of an award to Utility Services Company, Inc. in the amount of $518,600.00 is requested.
BACKGROUND:
This contract consists of surface preparation and coating the tank’s exterior and interior wet and dry surfaces. The bids were opened on 3/14/19 and the apparent lowest, responsive bidder was Utility Services Company, Inc. (Perry, GA) with a bid of $518,600.00.
Due to the special services required for the ‘height impacted’ work involved, the MWBE goals were MBE=0% and WBE=0%.

The anticipated date for start of construction is May 20, 2019 with anticipated completion by August 18, 2019.
BUDGET IMPACT:
Funding in the amount of $518,600.00 is budgeted in the Water Resources Enterprise Fund account 501-7024-01.5625.
RECOMMENDATION / ACTION REQUESTED:
The Engineering & Inspections and Water Resources Departments recommend approval and award of the Gorrell Street Water Tank Rehabilitation - Contract 2018-085 to Utility Services Company, Inc. for the bid amount of $518,600.00.
