PURPOSE:
The City of Greensboro has received funds in the amount of $46,083 from the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) to support eligible expenses under the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act (CRRSAA) under FTA Section 5310. A budget ordinance is needed to establish the budget.
BACKGROUND:
Under the CRRSAA, FTA allocated $14 billion in supplemental appropriations to support the transit industry during the COVID-19 public health emergency. Funding will be 100 percent federal revenue under FTA Sections 5307 and 5310 with no local match required. It will be available to support capital, operating, and other expenses generally eligible under those programs to prevent, prepare for, and respond to COVID-19. Operating expenses incurred beginning on January 20, 2020 for all rural and urban recipients are also eligible, including operating expenses to maintain transit services as well as paying for administrative leave for transit personnel due to reduced operations during an emergency.
The City of Greensboro was apportioned $46,083 in CRRSAA Section 5310 funding.
BUDGET IMPACT:
The City has been awarded federal funds in the amount of $46,083. No additional local funds are required.
