PURPOSE:
The Greensboro Police Department contracted with Omnilink Systems, Inc. for FY19-21 and the department wishes to extend its contract for an additional year as provided in the original contract resolution and contract. The contract extension is for one year (7/1/21-6/30/22) with a value of $175,000 per year. The contract amendment is presented to Greensboro City Council in accordance with current city fiscal procedures.
BACKGROUND:
Omnilink Systems Inc. leases equipment and services to the Greensboro Police Department for their priority offender electronic monitoring program. The company provides monitoring devices and related services of hosting and maintenance of the software application to monitor the location of such devices. The program is used to track and/or monitor offenders through the software application.
The contract is based upon the Charlotte Cooperative Purchasing Alliance, which allows for participating agencies to purchase off the City of Charlotte contract 2017000958 for offender tracking services. The original contract was for two years, with two one-year extensions offered in the contract.
BUDGET IMPACT:
The contract will be funded with Greensboro Police budget in the amount of $175,000 per year and will be paid out of account 101351014.
RECOMMENDATION / ACTION REQUESTED:
It is requested that the City Council pass the resolution allowing the Greensboro Police Department to amend its leasing contract in the estimated amount of $175,000 per year during the period of July 1, 2021 through June 30, 2022 with Omnilink Systems Inc.
