PURPOSE: Conduct Public Hearing on proposed Access GSO Fares.
BACKGROUND:
The Greensboro Transit Agency proposed to increase fares for paratransit services provided by Access GSO. The City of Greensboro is proposing a fare increase from $1.50 to up to $3.00 per trip as allowed under Federal Transit Administration policy.
GTA staff conducted a series of virtual public meetings via Zoom on Wednesday, May 5, Tuesday, May 11, and Monday, May 17, 2021 to receive feedback, comments and answer questions.
Based on feedback received, staff is recommending a fare increase of fifty cents per year beginning January 1, 2022 through 2024 to reach $3.00.
BUDGET IMPACT: Proposed fare increase is accounted for in the proposed GTA FY 21-22 budget.
RECOMMENDATION / ACTION REQUESTED: Conduct public hearing. Final decision to be made in conjunction with the adoption of the FY 21-22 Budget.
