PURPOSE:

Hydrostructures, P.A. is being requested to provide sanitary sewer cleaning and video assessment services on gravity sanitary sewer. These services are vital field inspections that help guide rehabilitation areas and support maintenance and repair of infrastructure.  City Council approval of a contract in the amount of $150,000 is requested.

BACKGROUND:

The Water Resources Department has an established program for sanitary sewer rehabilitation that helps renew aged infrastructure.  As part of this program, video assessments are conducted to identify gravity sewer conditions that could warrant maintenance, repair, rehab, or replacement of the mains.  The services provided by Hydrostructures also help Water Resources to visually inspect the sewer infrastructure, as required by the City’s collection system permit. Hydrostructures, P.A. has the knowledge and equipment to provide these cleaning services and video assessments.

The Hydrostructures project team will consist of JC Waller and Associates (MBE) and Manholes and Pipeline Consulting, LLC (WBE) with utilizations of 5% and 3% of the total contract amount, respectively.

BUDGET IMPACT:

Funding for this project is budgeted in the Water Resources Enterprise Fund account 501-7081-01.5413 in the amount of $150,000.

RECOMMENDATION / ACTION REQUESTED:

The Water Resources Department recommends and requests that City Council approve the contract with Hydrostructures, P.A. in the amount of $150,000.
