PURPOSE:
City Council approval is requested to authorize the City Manager to execute a change order on the existing contract with Able and Co in an amount not to exceed $125,400 to provide design and installation services in the Greensboro NCWorks Career Center.
BACKGROUND:
The Workforce Development Board/City of Greensboro has contracted Able and Co., a certified WBE, to provide professional services for design, paint, and installation in the NCWorks Career Centers since July 2020.
Able and Co. have performed design work for the NCWorks Career Centers in Guilford County. Workforce Development are recommending that the scope of work be increased to include the 2nd floor of the Greensboro NCWorks Career Center.
MWBE approval has been granted on this request.
BUDGET IMPACT:
Funds for this contract modification are budgeted in the following Office of Workforce Development Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act account: 216-0293-36.5410. All funds to be utilized are US Department of Labor funds passed through the NC Department of Commerce. No General Revenue funds are requested.
RECOMMENDATION / ACTION REQUESTED:
It is requested that the City Council authorize the City Manager to execute a change order on the existing contract with Able and Co in an amount not to exceed $125,400 to provide design and installation services in the Greensboro NCWorks Career Center.
