PURPOSE:
A resolution needs to be approved authorizing execution of an amended agreement with NCDOT to provide additional funding for EL-5101 DM Lowdermilk Street / Holts Chapel Road.
BACKGROUND:
The City is in the later stages of construction on this NCDOT supported roadway and sidewalk project along Lowdermilk Street and Holts Chapel Road. Per City request, NCDOT has agreed to provide additional funding to reimburse costs required to complete the project and the contracted engineering inspections work associated with it. This Agreement specifies the reimbursement amount and the steps the City must follow in order to receive the funding.
BUDGET IMPACT:
Funding for this project will increase as follows:
$1,287,999 (80%) Federal Funds
$ 322,000 (20%) Local Matching Funds
$1,609,999
Funding for the local match will come from Transportation bond fund account 471-4502-15.6401.
RECOMMENDATION / ACTION REQUESTED:
The Transportation Department recommends and requests approval of the attached resolution authorizing execution of an amended agreement with NCDOT for EL-5101 DM Lowdermilk Street / Holts Chapel Road.
