PURPOSE:
Allocations are for workforce programs administered by the City of Greensboro’s Workforce Development Department. A budget amendment needs to be approved to allow the expenditure of funds.
BACKGROUND:
1. Includes Detail Section 1 in Attachment A. Clark University has been granted funds from the US Department of Labor to assist in the development of sector-based apprenticeship programs. The Guilford WDB has been awarded as a subgrantee funds in the amount of $102,500 effective 4/1/2021, expiring 6/30/2022.
The Guilford WDB 2021 Apprenticeship Fund is established in the amount of $102,500.
BUDGET IMPACT:
The attached ordinance results in an increase of $102,500 in the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act Fund Budget.
RECOMMENDATION / ACTION REQUESTED:
It is recommended and requested that the City Council adopt the attached budget ordinance establishing and/or adjusting funding in the amount of $102,500 for Workforce Development programs.
