PURPOSE:
The request is for City Council to rename SR-6838 (Between North Regional Road and West Market Street) to Samaritan Lane. The City Council is required to hold a public hearing on this request before considering its approval.

Planning Staff has received a Street Name Change Petition to rename SR-6838 (between North Regional Road and West Market Street) to Samaritan Lane. The petition is signed by all of the landowners (100%) located along this road segment.

According to the application, Samaritan's Purse will be investing in a large hangar and offices for the purpose of international relief out of Greensboro. Samaritan's Purse will be the only entity with an address on this portion of road. This street name change will give Samaritan's Purse a clear and reliable address to receive materials.
