PURPOSE:

Requesting a resolution for the Greensboro Police Department to accept a Firearms Training Simulator Training System from the Greensboro Police Foundation.

 

BACKGROUND:

The Greensboro Police Foundation wishes to donate a Firearms Training Simulator Training System to the Greensboro Police Department. The system will not only allow for officer training, but can be transported to community events hosted by the police department to help build public understanding on police training and procedures. The system cost is approximately $60,000, which is outside of the police department’s budget capabilities.

 

BUDGET IMPACT:

There will not be an impact to the operating budget for acceptance of this donation.

 

RECOMMENDATION / ACTION REQUESTED:

It is requested that City Council accept the Firearms Training Simulator Training System for use by the police department.
