PURPOSE:
The bids for Contract 2018-020, Summit Avenue Streetscape, have been received. In order for the work to proceed on this contract, City Council approval is requested for award of the contract to Atlantic Contracting Company, Inc. for $7,694,887.00.
BACKGROUND:
The work consists of all labor, equipment, and materials required for the installation of streetscape enhancements on Summit Avenue and Yanceyville Street. The work includes fine grading, storm drainage, asphalt paving, pavement markings, decorative street lighting, erosion control and ADA compliant sidewalks and wheelchair ramps.
The bids were opened on February 11, 2021, and the apparent lowest, responsive bidder was Atlantic Contracting Company, Inc. with a bid of $7,694,887.00. The MWBE goals for this project are 9.0% MBE and 9.0% WBE. The contractor's commitments are 9.03% MBE and 9.03% WBE.
