PURPOSE:
A resolution needs to be approved to authorize amended agreement with NCDOT adding additional funding for construction to EL-5101 DL Greensboro Sidewalk Project.
BACKGROUND:
The City is in the later stages of construction on this NCDOT supported transit oriented sidewalk project along Pisgah Church Road, Lees Chapel Road, and Yanceyville Street. Per City request, NCDOT has agreed to provide additional funding to support costs required to complete the project and the contracted engineering inspections work associated with it. This Agreement specifies the reimbursement amount and the steps the City must following in order to receive the funding. Under this grant NCDOT will reimburse the City an additional up to amount of $657,701. The City will provide a required additional local match of up to $164,426.
BUDGET IMPACT:
The municipal agreement and associated budget ordinance will provide funding as follows:
$657,701 (80%) Federal Funds
$164,426 (20%) Local Matching Funds
$822,127
The local match will come from Transportation Bond Fund account 471-4502-15.6401. A budget adjustment is required to move funds to the appropriate account.
RECOMMENDATION / ACTION REQUESTED:
The Transportation Department recommends and requests approval of the attached resolution authorizing execution of the Amended Agreement for EL-5101 DL Greensboro Sidewalk Project.
