PURPOSE:
To consider a budget ordinance amendment to the Greensboro Science Center Bond Fund in the amount of $41,930 to appropriate funds for the Zoo Expansion Pond Rehabilitation project.
BACKGROUND:
On November 3, 2009 City voters approved the issuance of $20,000,000 in General Obligation Bonds for the Natural Science Center. There is a balance of $41,390 in unappropriated bond proceeds that are available for use at the Science Center and it is proposed that these funds be used toward funding the Zoo Expansion Pond Rehabilitation project. The Pond rehabilitation is estimated to cost approximately $99,000.
BUDGET IMPACT:
Approval of a budget ordinance amendment in the amount of $41,930 to fund the Zoo Expansion Pond Rehabilitation project in the Natural Science Center Bond Fund. Budget adjustments are also necessary to provide sufficient funding for the rehab project.
RECOMMENDATION / ACTION REQUESTED:
The Parks and Recreation and Finance Departments recommend that City Council approve the attached budget ordinance amending the Greensboro Science Center Bond Fund Capital Project Budget in the amount of $41,930.
