PURPOSE:
City Council approval is requested for a change order to Contract 2009-056A for the Downtown Greenway Phase 2 / Murrow Boulevard Roadway Improvements Design. This change order for $20,000.00 is to provide additional project coordination and design changes that were not included in the original contract.

BACKGROUND:
This project includes federal/state funding and is subject to the U.S. Department of Transportation Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) program. The M/WBE Program Plan expressly states, "...the following categories of contracts shall be excluded from the scope and application of this Program Plan: (a) Contracts that are subject to the U.S. Department of Transportation Disadvantaged Business Enterprise Program and Airport Concessions Disadvantaged Business Enterprise Program as set forth in 49 CFR Parts 23 and 26 or any successor regulations or legislation."

The U.S. Department of Transportation DBE program does not stipulate goal-setting for professional services; therefore, no goals were set for this project.

This change order is necessary to provide additional professional services to the existing roadway and sidewalk design contract for the Downtown Greenway Phase 2 / Murrow Boulevard Roadway Improvements. As the design progressed, re-designs were needed to accommodate field changes during the construction.
