PURPOSE:
The bids for Contract 2018-042B - Birch Creek Sewer Improvements, Phase I, have been received. In order for the work to proceed on this contract, City Council approval is requested for award of the contract to Jimmy R. Lynch & Sons, Inc. for $5,891,225.69.
BACKGROUND:
The work consists of all labor, equipment, and materials required for the construction of 1,197 linear feet of 24", 8,123 linear feet of 18", 3,995 linear feet of 12", and 4,031 linear feet of 8" gravity sanitary sewer, as well as manholes and appurtenances.

The bids were opened on August 27, 2020. The MBE participation goal was 5.0% and the WBE participation goal was 7.0%. The contractor commitment for these goals is MBE 5.03% and WBE 7.0%.
