PURPOSE:
Allocations are for workforce programs administered by the City of Greensboro’s Workforce Development Department. A budget amendment needs to be approved to allow the expenditure of funds.
BACKGROUND:
1. Includes Detail Sections 1 in Attachment A. The Community Foundation of Greater Greensboro has received a grant under the Eastern Triad Workforce Initiative (ETWI). The Guilford WDB, as a subgrantee, has been granted funds in the amount of $490,812 effective 7/1/2020, expiring 12/30/2020. These funds will be used to enhance mobile and virtual services to jobseekers in Guilford County that have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Guilford WDB 2020 ETWI Fund is created in the amount of $490,812.
BUDGET IMPACT:
The attached ordinance results in an increase of $490,812 in the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act Fund Budget.
RECOMMENDATION / ACTION REQUESTED:
It is recommended and requested that the City Council adopt the attached budget ordinance establishing and/or adjusting funding in the amount of $490,812 for Workforce Development programs.
