PURPOSE:
City Council is requested to approve a change order to contract 2020-0310 with LJB, Inc. for the additional unmanned aerial vehicle support services tied to the Water Resources Fall Protection System Services project.

BACKGROUND:
Contract 2020-0310 in the amount of $272,650 was issued to LJB, Inc. and approved by City Council on May 19, 2020 to provide fall protection system design services at critical Water Resources infrastructure sites. This includes the City's ten above ground storage tanks, water and wastewater treatment plants and a sewer lift station. Due to safety conflicts during initial assessments, LJB, Inc. has requested to utilize an unmanned aerial vehicle to gather the remaining data required to complete the assessment phase.

LJB, Inc. prepared a proposal in the amount of $62,797 to complete the additional design work. The original MWBE participation of the contract was 9.81% MBE, and 0% WBE. The proposed MWBE participation of the Change Order is consistent with the overall participation of the original contract.

BUDGET IMPACT:
Funding for this change order will be split across three accounts. $35,533 is budgeted in the Water Supply fund account 501-7024-01.5236. $13,632 is budgeted in the Water Reclamation fund account 501-7056-01.5413. $13,632 is budgeted in the Water Resources Operations fund account 501-7071-01.5550.
