PURPOSE:
To ensure the reassignment of duties of the disbanded Planning Board to the Board of Adjustment, the Zoning Commission, and the Technical Review Committee and revisions of policies and procedures of the Greensboro Criminal Justice Advisory Committee are documented for review and inspection by the general public.
BACKGROUND:
At the July 21, 2020 meeting, the City Council adopted Ordinance # 20-099, which eliminated the Planning Board by shifting their duties to the Board of Adjustment, the Zoning Commission, and the Technical Review Committee. Furthermore, on at the September 15, 2020, City Council adopted a resolution to rescind resolution #18-0533 regarding the the Greensboro Criminal Justice Advisory Commission (GCJAC) in order to streamline said procedures for a fair, equal and transparent system. Said resolution combined the GCJAC and the Police Community Review Board (PCRB) into one entity, to be called the GCJAC.

RECOMMENDATION / ACTION REQUESTED:
It is recommended that City Council pass this Resolution to Revise the Boards and Commissions Handbook to reflect the disbandment of the Planning Board, to authorize the reassignment of duties to the Board of Adjustment, the Zoning Board, and the Technical Review Committee and the revised policies and procedures of the Greensboro Criminal Justice Advisory Co...
