PURPOSE:
Guilford Metro entered into a contract with Motorola solutions, Inc. in 2013 valued at $14,366,618. Since that time, the contract requires an amendment and budget increase to continue providing necessary services. City Council approval is required to amend the contract. Council is requested to approve Change Order No. 003 in the amount of increase of $97,605.90 with Motorola Solutions, Inc.
BACKGROUND:
The terms of the original contract provided that Motorola Solutions, Inc. would provide for Migration Assurance Program (MAP) for the Guilford-Greensboro TRON network. The scope of the work has increased as the result of additional services associated with site location changes from Nathaniel Greene School to the South East site.
This change of site included changes in tower height, foundation change due to poor soil, new property purchase and access road expansion resulting in the additional costs.
A different site had to be selected due to issues at the original site which resulted in increase in costs incurred due to new property purchase, access road expansion, changes in tower height, foundation change
BUDGET IMPACT:
The funding for this contract amendment is housed in the following accounts
688-3901-01.6059 = $48,802.95 for the GM911 half
688-3901.01.6024 = $48,802.95 for the Guilford County half
RECOMMENDATION / ACTION REQUESTED:
City Council approval is requested to authorize the contract amendment.
