PURPOSE:
The City of Greensboro maintains a hazardous materials response team to serve areas within its jurisdictional limits and is willing to provide hazardous material response services to and in Guilford County.
Guilford County shall pay to the City of Greensboro an annual retainer in the amount of $30,000 payable in July of each contract year for the preparedness of their personnel and equipment capable of Hazardous Materials response. Guilford County will agree to an annual increase of $1,000 per annum.
The City will have right of refusal of a mission into Guilford County during times of unusually high call volume or a major working incident. City Hazardous Materials calls will take priority over State Missions and County Calls.
There will be a per incident payment for service based on the number of personnel and type of equipment that are required to respond to an incident into Guilford County. Payment for service is based on an hourly rate established for personnel and equipment. Also, any expendable items that are used to mitigate an incident are fully reimbursable by the County.
