PURPOSE:

To give the approval of the Encroachment Agreement between the City and North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University.

 

BACKGROUND:

North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University approached the City in order to ask for an Encroachment Agreement to install fiber optic within City right of way. The purpose of this request is to extend fiber optic cabling from existing fiber network to serve North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University. Total occupation in City right-of-way is 5,300 linear feet. In order to connect fiber optics it is necessary to directional bore under the street.

 

Information Technology and Engineering & Inspections have approved this placement of communication connectivity.

BUDGET IMPACT:

There is no budget impact.

 

RECOMMENDATION / ACTION REQUESTED:

It is recommended that City Council grant the Encroachment Agreement between the City and North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University.
