PURPOSE:
The City of Greensboro Water Resources Department is requesting to enter into a professional services contract with Wescott, Small & Associates, PLLC to provide engineering design services for the Knox Rd. and Bethel Church Rd. Waterline Extension Project.
BACKGROUND:
The purpose of the project is to design a waterline extension in order to complete a loop feed for the area to address ongoing water quality issues. The new waterline extension will also provide a redundant loop feed and increase fire flow for the nearby schools. A new 12" ductile iron waterline will be extended from the existing 12" main along Bethel Church Rd. to Knox Rd. then extending along Knox Rd. as a 16" main to tie in to the existing 16" main in Burlington Rd.
Wescott, Small & Associates, PLLC. was selected to the Water Resources on call in November 2019. The design team assembled for this project includes the following MWBE professional service firms: Wescott, Small & Associates, PLLC, JC Waller & Associates, PC., Palacio Collaborative, Inc. and Three Oaks Engineering. The total MWBE participation of the overall contract is 47.14%. The MBE participation is 29.92% and the WBE participation is 17.21% of the contract amount.
BUDGET IMPACT:
Funding is budgeted in Water Resources Capital Improvements Fund account 503-7029-01.5410 in the amount of $397,563.00. A budget adjustment is needed to use this account.
