PURPOSE:
City Council approval is requested for an amendment in the amount of $103,696.92 for Contract 2020-08 Volkert, Inc. in order to provide professional design services for the Murrow Boulevard Roadway Improvements and Downtown Greenway Phase 2 Project.

BACKGROUND:
This contact amendment includes the assessment and plan development for the rehabilitation of the existing Murrow Boulevard Bridge over Church Street.

Due to the condition of the existing bridge deck, the contractor for the Murrow Boulevard Roadway Improvements and Downtown Greenway Phase 2 Project has not been able to construct the proposed greenway on the existing Murrow Boulevard Bridge. An initial evaluation has found that the bridge deck must be replaced before the greenway can be constructed. To proceed, the City will first need to fully assess the bridge and then develop plans for the rehabilitation of the existing bridge. The original contract amount was $19,117.95. This contract amendment, for $103,698.92, will make the new contract total amount $122,816.87.

This amendment is for an existing contract that is federally funded and has DBE utilization goals. The contractor's DBE commitment for this amendment is 16.59%. The City will seek to obtain 80% reimbursement of these funds from the NCD...
