PURPOSE:
A resolution is needed to authorize a contract addendum extending the term of the contract with UZURV Holdings, Inc. for an additional three months.
BACKGROUND:
The City entered into agreement with UZURV Holdings, Inc. on or about March 1, 2020 to continue providing alternative transportation options to eligible riders of the City’s Specialized Community Area Transportation Service (SCAT). The contract had a budget of $98,000 and was set to expire on June 30, 2020. Due to a decrease in ridership associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, approximately $75,700 remained available on the contract at the end of May. Staff estimates that the remaining funds will support the service through September 30, 2020. Therefore, staff is requesting a no-cost extension to extend the period of performance through September. No additional funding will be required.
During the three-month extension, City staff will develop and issue a new Request for Proposal for a contractor to provide this supplemental transportation service.
BUDGET IMPACT:
No additional funding is required. Funds for this extension are already encumbered.
RECOMMENDATION / ACTION REQUESTED:
The Department of Transportation recommends and requests that the City Council approve this First Amendment to the UZURV Holdings, Inc. contract.
