PURPOSE:
The bids for Contract 2017-071 - Forest Oaks Loop Waterline Extension have been received. In order for the work to proceed on this contract, City Council approval is requested for award of the contract to Yates Construction Company, Inc. for $2,983,692.07.
BACKGROUND:
The work consists of all labor, equipment, and materials required for the installations of 200 linear feet of 6” waterline, 9,255 linear feet of 12” waterline, and 1,055 linear feet of 16” waterline.
The bids were opened on May 7, 2020. The MBE participation goal was 3% and the WBE participation goal was 4%. The contractor commitment for these goals is MBE 3.10% and WBE 4.17%.

The proposed date for start of construction is July 17, 2020. The proposed date of completion is April 1, 2021.
BUDGET IMPACT:
Funds in the amount of $2,983,692.07 for this construction contract are budgeted in the Water Resources Capital Improvement Fund account 503-7029-01-6016 A20049. A budget adjustment is needed to use this account.
RECOMMENDATION / ACTION REQUESTED:
It is recommend by the Departments of Engineering & Inspections and Water Resources that City Council approve the bid and award Contract 2017-071 - Forest Oaks Loop Waterline Extension Project to Yates Construction Company, Inc. for the bid amount of $2,983,692.07.
