PURPOSE:
The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has awarded supplemental funding through the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act) that requires programming in the 2019-2020 Annual Action Plan.
BACKGROUND:
The Substantial Amendment to the 2019-2020 Action Plan includes the following HOPWA-CV allocation and program funding awarded through the CARES Act:
HOPWA-CV Funding for the City of Greensboro ($77,708)
Proposed Uses of HOPWA-CV Funds:
Housing Assistance for Persons with AIDS: $77,708
BUDGET IMPACT:
$77,708 in new federal CARES Act grant funds will be available to prevent, prepare for, and respond to the Coronavirus pandemic in Greensboro.
RECOMMENDATION / ACTION REQUESTED:
Request that Council adopt the attached resolution to authorize the programming and use of HOPWA-CV funding.
