PURPOSE

City Council approval is requested to authorize the City Manager to negotiate and execute a contract with Educational Data Systems, Inc (EDSI) in an amount not to exceed $1,200,000 to fund Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act Youth services through June 30, 2021.

 

BACKGROUND: 

The Workforce Development Board/City of Greensboro issued an RFP to procure Youth Services in the Guilford County NCWorks Career Centers for Fiscal Year 2020-21. 

 

On April 2, 2020, the Workforce Development Board voted to approve a contract with EDSI through June 30, 2021 at a cost not to exceed $1,200,000 for the period of July 1, 2020 - June 30, 2021. 

 

BUDGET IMPACT:

Funds for this contract modification are budgeted in the following Office of Workforce Development Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act accounts.  All funds to be utilized are US Department of Labor funds passed through the NC Department of Commerce.  No General Revenue funds are requested.

 

RECOMMENDATION / ACTION REQUESTED:

It is requested that the City Council authorize the City Manager to negotiate and execute a contract in an amount not to exceed $1,200,000 with EDSI.
