PURPOSE:
The purpose of this ordinance is to amend the FY 2019-20 Equipment Services fund budget by $741,000 for the purchase of vehicles and equipment related to capital outlay requests, additions to the lease program, and mid-year equipment additions.
BACKGROUND:
Equipment Services needs to amend their overall appropriations by $741,000 in order to purchase a total of twenty-three vehicles and equipment. Included in this purchase are seven vehicles and equipment approved through capital outlay requests made during the FY19-20 budget development process, ten vehicles and equipment to be added due to approved mid-year requests, and six vehicles to be added to the lease program in order to eliminate maintenance-only vehicles from the fleet.
Requests for the vehicles and equipment represent many departments in the organization including Water Resources, Field Operations, Engineering, Planning, Neighborhood Development and Transportation. Funds will be charges to Water Resources, Stormwater, Solid Waste, and the General Fund for the purchase of these vehicles and equipment.
BUDGET IMPACT:
If approved, additional expenses and revenues will be appropriated to the Equipment Services Fund for the purchase of equipment and vehicles. A budget ordinance and adjustment are required to complete this request.
RECOMMENDATION / ACTION REQUESTED:
It is requested that City Council approve the budget ordinance amending the FY 2019-20 Equipment Services Fund budget in the amount of $741,000.
