PURPOSE:

The Greensboro Police Department wishes to enter into a three-year contract with Tritech Software Systems to provide crime analysis and crime mapping to its officers and support staff through its Crimeview software package. The department has used the software successfully since 2012. The contract terms also include an option to continue the contract with one year extensions and the police department may wish to do so. The Police Department requests City Council approve the resolution to continue the services with which the department has been satisfied.

 

BACKGROUND:

Tritech Software Systems provides the police department with Crimeview Software packages. The software is a crime analysis, mapping and reporting software extension to ArcGIS. It is designed for the detailed study of patterns of crime as they relate to geography and time, often termed “hot spots”.

 

BUDGET IMPACT:

The contract will be funded with Greensboro Police budget for a total of $119,562.61 over three years and will be paid out of account 101-3502-02.5415.  

 

RECOMMENDATION / ACTION REQUESTED:

It is requested the City Council pass the resolution allowing the Greensboro Police Department to enter into the contract with Tritech Software Systems for the term of March 10, 2020 through March 9, 2023, with one year extensions as needed.
