PURPOSE:
A budget ordinance is required to amend the FY 2019-2020 General Fund budget to appropriate the funding necessary for anticipated additional expenses for personnel and operations costs through appropriation of additional fund balance for the City Attorney’s Office.
BACKGROUND:
Additional funding is needed to support Council approved changes within the City Attorney’s Office for additional personnel costs, acquisition of legal matter management software, staff development, legal services, and staff technology needs. The enhancements total $184,640 for the remainder of FY 2019-2020. These additional expenses will be funded through an increase of additional appropriated fund balance from the General Fund as outlined in the ordinance.
BUDGET IMPACT:
Increase the appropriation for FY 2019-2020 City Attorney’s Office Budget by $184,640 to cover additional personnel and operating cost.
RECOMMENDATION / ACTION REQUESTED:
The Budget and Evaluation Department recommends and request approval of the attached ordinance amending the General Fund Budget.
