PURPOSE:
Allocations are for programs funded through the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) administered by the City of Greensboro’s Office of Workforce Development. A budget amendment needs to be approved to allow the expenditure of funds.
BACKGROUND:
1. Includes Detail Section 1 in Attachment A. The NC Department of Commerce provides a share of funding for infrastructure costs for the NCWorks Career Centers as of 1/01/2018. Based on the current statewide infrastructure agreement, the Guilford WDB has been granted funds in the amount of $283,038 effective 1/10/2020 expiring 12/31/2020.
The Guilford WDB 2019 Infrastructure Fund is created in the amount of $283,038.
BUDGET IMPACT:
The attached ordinance results in an increase of $283,038 in the WIOA Fund Budget.
RECOMMENDATION / ACTION REQUESTED:
It is recommended and requested that the City Council adopt the attached budget ordinance establishing and/or adjusting funding in the amount of $283,038 for Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act Local Area programs.
