PURPOSE:
City Council approval is requested for Change Order #1 to Contract 2018-0540 for the Voss Avenue Stream Relocation and Culvert Design project. This change order is for additional surveying and design work to extend the stream stabilization onto the adjacent property located at 4417 Voss Avenue. City Council approval is required for this change order with Davis-Martin-Powell and Associates for $27,300.

BACKGROUND:
The Voss Avenue area is frequently subjected to flooding due to a poorly aligned stream and an undersized culvert under the roadway. Based on previous engineering studies, the City now intends to implement a stream realignment / restoration and culvert upgrade to minimize impacts on the adjacent properties. The majority of these improvements will take place on property already owned by the City of Greensboro. In February of 2019, the adjacent property owner approached Water Resources about extending the project limits to include the rear portion of their property where stream bank erosion has occurred.

Davis-Martin-Powell and Associates was selected through the Water Resources Engineering On-Call program to provide a design of the stream relocation. With the addition of the adjacent property, additional surveying and design will be required beyond the original extents of the project.
