PURPOSE:
The Greensboro Parks and Recreation Department has received a reimbursement grant from the Piedmont Triad Regional Council Area Agency on Aging, in the amount of $10,574 to support active adult programming. To accept this reimbursement grant, a budget amendment is requested from Greensboro City Council in accordance with current city fiscal procedures.

BACKGROUND:
The Greensboro Parks and Recreation Department has entered into an agreement with the Piedmont Triad Regional Council Area Agency on Aging to provide and enhance services for active adults within the City of Greensboro. The Piedmont Triad Regional Council Area Agency on Aging is responsible for planning, developing, implementing, and coordinating aging services for seven counties in the Piedmont Triad (Alamance, Caswell, Davidson, Guilford, Montgomery, Randolph, and Rockingham) and each county's residents age 60 and older. The agency is organized to identify and support State area agencies who qualify for funding through the Federal Older American's Act (OAA) and provides services to older adults. The agency has agreed to reimburse the Greensboro Parks and Recreation Department for expenses occurred with providing improved service for active adults up to a maximum of $10,574 for fiscal year 2019-20.
