PURPOSE:
The bids for Contract 2013-090 - EL-5101DL (Parts C & D), Pisgah Church Road, Lees Chapel Road, and Yanceyville Street Sidewalk Improvements, have been received. In order for work to proceed, City Council approval is requested for award of the contract to Atlantic Contracting Company, Inc. in the amount of $6,287,104.75.
BACKGROUND:
The work consists of all labor, equipment, and materials required for installation of roadway improvements: concrete sidewalks, retaining walls, fencing, pavement markings, erosion control, and ADA compliant concrete curb cuts and driveways.
The bids were opened on September 19, 2019 and the apparent lowest, responsive, responsible bidder is Atlantic Contracting Company, Inc. (Greensboro, NC) with a bid of $6,287,104.75.
The DBE goal was 10%.
The contractor's commitment is DBE 10.0%.
Note: the DBE is also a WBE within the City's MSA.
