PURPOSE:
Fleming Engineering, Inc. is needed to provide additional design engineering services for the Greene Street Streetscape Project. City Council approval of a contract extension to the professional services contract in the amount of $167,006.50 is requested.
BACKGROUND:
The Greene Street Streetscape is to provide the following improvements: curb and gutter, curb cuts, storm drainage, sidewalk, pavement markings, landscaping, and erosion control devices. This also includes the replacement of an existing 12" waterline. The limits are from Market Street to Bellemeade Street and pavement overlay along Market Street from Greene Street to Elm Street.
Fleming Engineering, Inc. was awarded the design contract for the Greene Street Streetscape Project by City Council on August 7, 2017 in the amount of $222,130.00. One other extension was approved on May 16, 2019 in the amount of $77,850.00.
The Transportation Department has identified a need to add the following tasks: Greene Street east side improvements; Sternberger curb and storm sewer replacement design from Greene Street to Commerce Place (and one-way street design); approximately 840 LF of water line design; pavement markings and traffic control for a two-way traffic pattern. The cost to incorporate the additional engineering is $167,006.50. With this extension, the new total amount of the contract will be 466,986.50.
