PURPOSE:
This Microsoft Enterprise Agreement is entered into between the Microsoft and the City of Greensboro as of the effective date. The Enterprise Agreement consists of: (4000) Core CAL’s with Software Assurance, access to Microsoft Exchange, SharePoint, SQL Server Enterprise and Standard, Microsoft Server Standard and Datacenter. The service agreement is currently in effect until November 30 2019.
BACKGROUND:
The Microsoft suite of software is used to conduct the business of the City. Included in the original contract is the expection that the City would enter into an enterprise agreement, for the renewal of software licenses for as long as they choose to use this software solution to meet those needs.
BUDGET IMPACT:
Funding for the ongoing support and maintenance fees are included in the adopted budget.

RECOMMENDATION / ACTION REQUESTED:
It is the recommendation of Information Technology that we encumber funds for the Microsoft Enterprise Agreement and licensing fees. It is established Microsoft Solutions is the sole provider of City’s software and continuing support and maintenance is the most reasonable and efficient way to meet the objective of the organization. In light of this, we have requested and formally received an MWBE Waiver.
