PURPOSE:
To authorize the City Manager to execute the Acknowledgement of Property Owner for the Notice of Brownfields Property and Brownfields Agreement pertaining to the Printworks Mill property at 1700-1702 and 1707 Fairview Street.

BACKGROUND:
The property located at 1700 (Parcel #27498), 1700 YY (Parcel #228129) ,1702 (Parcel #228128), and 1701-1707 (Parcel #27497) Fairview Street in Greensboro contains the historic Printworks Mill and is comprised of four parcels totaling 21.173 acres. A small portion of the property has been dedicated to the City as right-of-way (ROW) for 9th Street. The property is currently a brownfields based on prior uses as a rug manufacturing facility, a contract print works plant, a fabric storage warehouse, and other textile printing and finishing. The developers, Printworks Ventures, LLC and Mill District Properties, LLC, intend to redevelop the property for retail, office, restaurant, parking, high density residential, storage, brewery or food production, institutional, studio, recreation, open space and greenway. Printworks Ventures, LLC also dedicated a drainage way and open space parcel, known as 1700 YY Fairview Street, on the Final Plat of the Printworks Mill recorded at Plat Book 197 Page 132.
