PURPOSE:

To grant an Encroachment Agreement within the City of Greensboro Landfill, 1198 Nealtown Road, for the constructing, operating, and maintaining electrical power lines and associated equipment within and existing Duke Energy Easement. When public or private entities request to use City right-of-way/Property, it is required that they secure approval by City Council.

 

BACKGROUND:

Duke Energy approached the City in order to request placement of electrical power lines within City Property.

This encroachment, the location (City of Greensboro Landfill at 1198 Nealtown Road), and dimensions of the Duke Energy Easement have been reviewed and approved by Engineering & Inspections, Field Operations, and Legal. Refer to attached detail for further information.

 

BUDGET IMPACT:

There is no budget impact; all associated costs will be incurred by Duke Energy.

 

RECOMMENDATION / ACTION REQUESTED:

Engineering & Inspections and the Field Operations Departments recommend that City Council grant Duke Energy an Encroachment Agreement for the use of constructing, operating, and maintaining electrical power lines and associated equipment within City property.
